What is Latch?

Latch is a Shopify app that lets you hide product page descriptions behind a password. Visitors see a lock; anyone with the password sees your full description or extra content. No coding—create a lock in the app, add our block where your product description appears, and you’re done. We plan to expand to other areas of the store later.

What you can do (for now)

Right now Latch is built for product page descriptions. You can:

• Gate extended product copy — Show a short public description and reveal full details (specs, ingredients, care info) after password.
• B2B or wholesale details — Give trade customers a password to see pricing, MOQs, or bulk info on the product page.
• Exclusive or pre-launch product info — Share one password for early access to full product descriptions or secret drops.

We have plans to support other parts of your store (e.g. pages, collections) in the future.

How it works

1. Install Latch and open it from your Shopify admin.
2. Create a lock: name it, set a password, and add your content.
3. In the theme editor, add the Latch Embed block to the product page (where the description appears) and paste your Lock ID.
4. Publish. Visitors see the lock; people with the password see your content.
